Service Technician

We’re excited to announce an opening for a Service Technician to join our team at North East Auto Tech! We pride ourselves on offering a busy, supportive work environment where you’ll have opportunities to grow your skills with training packages to stay ahead in the industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on VAG vehicles in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform Haldex servicing, ensuring correct procedure and use of appropriate fluids and parts.
  • Carry out DSG servicing, including oil and filter changes.
  • Repair issues related to suspension systems, including shock absorbers, springs, and bushings.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace brake systems including pads, discs, and fluid.
  • Fit, balance, and replace tyres as required.
  • Perform 4-wheel alignment using modern alignment equipment and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Accurately complete job cards and service reports.

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
  • Includes a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks.

What we’re looking for:

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification (practical, not theory-based).
  • At least 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Valid driving license held for at least 5 years.
  • Own set of hand tools.

Preferred skills:

  • Gas F certificate.
  • Clean driving license.
  • VAG dealership or independent training experience.

Diagnostic Technician

We’re looking for a Diagnostic Technician to join our team at North East Auto Tech! This is a key role where you’ll be relied on to handle diagnostics, engine repairs, and hardware/software upgrades, among other tasks. We offer a fast-paced, supportive environment with training packages to help you continue developing your skills.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and fault-finding using VAG diagnostic tools (e.g., ODIS, ISTA) across all VAG and BMW
  • Carry out wiring and electrical system repairs, including CAN bus fault tracing, pin testing, and loom repairs.
  • Conduct engine diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls, including timing, fuel systems, and emissions-related issues.
  • Diagnose and repair issues related to DSG transmissions, including mechatronic faults, clutch replacements, and software calibration.
  • Apply ECU and module software updates in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Interpret and action technical bulletins, repair manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Support other technicians with diagnostic advice and technical guidance.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Document all diagnostic procedures, findings, and repairs accurately in job cards and systems.

  • VAG dealership or independent training experience, including ODIS use.

Pay: Salary based on experience and skills.

Vehicle Valeter

We’re excited to announce an opening for a Valeter to join our dedicated team at North East Auto Tech! If you take pride in delivering high-quality vehicle cleaning services and enjoy working in a busy, supportive environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Thoroughly clean vehicles, both inside and outside, ensuring a high standard of finish.
  • Clean and polish vehicle interiors, including carpets, seats, and upholstery.
  • Wash and wax vehicle exteriors, including wheels, windows, and mirrors.
  • Vacuum, steam clean, and sanitize vehicle interiors.
  • Ensure vehicles are returned to customers in pristine condition.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and materials, ensuring everything is in good working order.
  • Support the team with general maintenance and light-duty tasks when required.

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Includes a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks.

  • A positive and customer-focused attitude.
  • A full driving license is essential.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with vehicle cleaning products and equipment.
  • Knowledge of interior and exterior detailing techniques.
